The Coalition on the Anti-Stigmas of Mental Illness in the CNMI (CAMI-CNMI) in Saipan was established to act as an advocate for people labeled as mentally ill. Its mission is to assist these peers (formerly known as clients or consumers) and their families to understand their rights, to educate them about mental illness and mental health services, to empower them with the knowledge and tools so that they can live healthy and productive lives as members of the community, and to educate the public and raise awareness by bringing peers, family, and community members together to eliminate the stigmas of mental illness.
